Gleichzeitig schuf die Stadt Platz für weitere Industrieansiedlungen. 1911/12 erschloss sie westlich und östlich des Hauptbahnhofs ein Gewerbegebiet. ............Offenbar als Einstandsgeschenk bot Fränkel der Stadt 1911 einen Julius-Wolff-Brunnen an.
Alguien me puede ayudar a traducir esta palabrita?
Einstand, por lo que entiendo, es algo como "ingreso". Será un "regalo de ingreso"? Por eso les puse todo el párrafo, porque estamos hablando de áreas industriales donde Fränkel luego establece su fábrica.

Mir kommt das richtig vor. Normalerweise gibt man seinen Einstand, wenn man irgendwo anfängt, z.B. als neuer Kollege oder so. Dann gibt man "einen aus", gemeint ist eine kleine Einladung, eine Runde oder ähnliches. Warum slso nicht auch ein Einstandsgeschenk für die Stadt, in der er sich niederläßt.

De DUDEN se desprende para Einstand (Einstandsgeschenk) un significado parecido al que decís aunque también un poco diferente.
Puede que sea un regalo inicial, un primer regalo, o sea su debut como altruista.

Der Julius-Wolff-Brunnen oder Renatabrunnen war ein Zierbrunnen in Hildesheim.
Der von Paul Juckoff gestaltete Brunnen am Südende der Sedanallee erinnerte an Julius Wolff und dessen zur Zeit der Stiftsfehde in Hildesheim spielende Dichtung Renata. Gestiftet wurde er von dem Fabrikanten Gustav Fränkel, Besitzer einer Weberei und einer Sackfabrik, der 1916 zum Bürgervorsteher gewählt wurde.[1] Der Rat der Stadt schoss 1.500 Goldmark für das Fundament und die gärtnerische Gestaltung zu. Die Einweihung erfolgte am 31. Juli 1911.[2] Die Bronze-Statue der Renata wurde im Zweiten Weltkrieg eingeschmolzen. Im Zuge der Aufräumarbeiten nach Kriegsende wurde auch der Rest des Brunnens beseitigt.

Marcelo, no acabo de ver mucho la relación de tu aporte con el mensaje de Gaby, pero si se trata de hacer el hilo más ameno, aquí te/os ofrezco la historia cantada de otra "Brunen". sep, en efecto, don Gustavo era mi bisabuelo y uno de sus nietos y familia viven en tu ciudad. Justamente anduvimos por ahí hace un mes más o menos cuando salió a la luz la historia de mi ancestro.
