El otro día en clase de alemán avanzado no se supo que función tenía "statt" en esta oración:

Unsere Gartenstühle sind aus Holz, statt aus Plastik.

Konjunktion oder Präposition.

En este contexto "statt" significa "en vez de", "pero no" ...
